The Olympic Peninsula
The Olympic Peninsula is located in the Northwestern corner of Washington State. Bordered on the west by the Pacific Ocean, on the east by the Hood Canal and on the north by the Strait of Juan de Fuca , the Olympic Peninsulais anchored by the majestic Olympic Mountains. The Olympic Peninsula is one of the most diverse places in North America when if comes to it's terrain and weather. You will find mountains, beachs and rain forrests all in a very compact geograpical area. If you enjoy hiking and exploring you will never be bored on your days off.
The Olympic National Park and Forrest
The olypic National Park and Forrest are the center piece of the Olympic Peninsula. The National Park was established in 1938 and was more recently designated World Heritage Site and Biosphere. The Western coastal area is home to a large temperate rain forests where heards of Rosevelt Elk roam. The park and forrest are also home to some of the worlds largest trees. With no roads intersecting the park, you will find some of the most prestine and undisturbed natural beauty anywhere. You can backpack every one of your days off and you still will have trails left untraveled at the end of the season. Aramark operates Lake Crescent Lodge, Sol Duc Hot Springs Resort and Kalaloch Lodge all located in the national park and Lake Quinault Lodge located in the national forrest.
Cities and Towns of the Peninsula
Port Angeles
Port Angeles is the jumping off point for most visitors to the Olympic Peninsula. The city of 19,000 is located on the Northern coast of the Olympic Peninsual.
For those working at Lake Crescent and Sol Duc Hot Springs, Port Angeles is a quick day trip. Here you will find several large grocery store chains, a Wal-Mart, two movie theaters, coffee shops with internet and great restaurants. You will also find a wide variety of local shops which carry everything you need to outfit yourself for those days exploring the backcountry.
Port Angeles is also the location for the Blackball Ferry. Those employees with passports or enhanced driver's licenses can jump on the ferry for a day trip to Victoria, British Columbia, Canada.

Forks is home to all things vampire. Made famous by the Twilight series of books and movies, this former logging town of 3,000 is the shopping stop for those working at Kalaloch Lodge. Just a short 30 minute bus ride will put you at the local grocery store and outfitter.
Forks is known as one of the wettest places in the United States so it's good to always have your rain jacket with you when visiting.
