                                                                      Hiking Trails accessible from the resort

                                                                      Sol Duc Falls (Easy to Moderate)

                                                                      One of the top ten “must-sees” in the park. Four Mile/400 foot elevation gain out and back. Follow trailhead from southwestern corner of our parking lot. This trail can also be accessed by driving to the Falls trailhead. Just turn right as you leave the property and the trailhead is 1.5 miles east of our location. This reduces your hike to a 1.5 mile out and back.

                                                                      Mink Lake (Strenuous)

                                                                      5.2 Mile/1200 foot gain out and back to beautiful Mink Lake. Hike through old growth forests and hop across small streams on your way to one of the most scenic forested backcountry lakes.

                                                                      Lovers Lane (Easy to Moderate)

                                                                      Six Mile/200 ft elevation gain loop linking the resort to Sol Duc Falls. Use Sol Duc Falls trail and Campground trail to make the loop. A Beautiful hike through old growth forests.


                                                                       Hot Spring Pools

                                                                      Our Hot Spring Pools are open from 9:00am – 9:00pm daily.

                                                                      We feature three Hot Spring Pools and one Olympic Size Freshwater Pool. The temperatures of the pools vary from a maximum of 109* to a minimum of 95* depending on the weather. We have a wading pool just for the kids (four and under). Children four and under are not allowed in the two larger pools. No children under the age of one allowed in any of the Hot Spring Pools. Our life guards are on hand to assist you…please cooperate with them and let them know how they can assist with any questions you may have about our pools. All of the three mineral pools are allowed to rest twice daily at specified times. This allows us to test for bacteria to ensure the health and safety of our guests.




                                                                      Other things to do on the Olympic Peninsula



                                                                      Canoeing Lake Crescent
                                                                      A quick 14 mile drive to the Fairholme Store where they have canoes and kayaks for rent. Or drive another 15 minutes to Lake Crescent Lodge where Theodore Roosevelt once hung his hat to rent a canoe for the day.


                                                                      Salmon Cascades
                                                                      A short three mile drive from the Hot Springs, Salmon Cascades is one of the premier locales in the northwest to view the antics of spawning salmon, complete with an abundance of beautiful salmon in the fall, a whirling dervish of a waterfall and easy roadside access.


                                                                      Hoh Rain Forest
                                                                      A two hour drive (72 miles) from Sol Duc Hot Springs will take you into the heart of one of three temperate rain forests in the United States; all of which are located on the Olympic Peninsula. Explore a visitor center, interpretive nature trails and the Hall of Mosses or walk part of the 17.4 mile Hoh River Trail perhaps stopping for a picnic along the way.


                                                                      Hurricane Ridge
                                                                      Hurricane Ridge is the most easily accessed mountain area within Olympic National Park. In clear weather, fantastic views can be enjoyed year round. Located about a one hour drive from Port Angeles (two hours from Sol Duc), Hurricane Ridge has a visitor center, ranger-led hikes during the summer, and for the more adventurous – miles of hiking trails above the timberline.


                                                                      Rialto Beach
                                                                      Picturesque sea stacks, giant drift logs and wild crashing surf make this easily reached beach well worth the drive. Located a one hour drive from Sol Duc Hot Springs, Rialto Beach is a part of the Olympic Wilderness Coast.
